Brake Lever, Brake Pedal
• Install the rear master cylinder and tighten the rear master
cylinder mounting bolts [A] temporarily.
• Hook the return spring upper end [B] on the footpeg
bracket hook.
• Install the front footpeg bracket.
• Tighten:
Torque - Front Footpeg Bracket Bolts [A]: 25 N·m (2.5
kgf·m, 18 ft·lb)
Rear Master Cylinder Mounting Bolts [B]: 25 N·m
(2.5 kgf·m, 18 ft·lb)
• Run the brake hose correctly (see Cable, Wire, and Hose
Routing section (18-2)).
• Check the brake pedal position (see Brake Pedal Position
Inspection(12-10)).
• Enter the electronic cruise control system switch diagnos-
tic mode (see Electronic Cruise Control System Switches
and Buttons Inspection(16-83)).
• Check that the electronic cruise control cancel switch
(rear brake) is switched when depressing the pedal 6
mm (0.24 in.).
• In addition, make sure the electronic cruise control cancel
switch is operated before the rear brake light switch.
If the timing is improper, adjust the electronic cruise con-
trol switch (see Electronic Cruise Control Cancel Switch
(Rear Brake) Replacement(16-86)).
