BRAKES 12-19
Brake Pads

• Pull
  [B].
       up the caliper, remove the pad pin [A] and brake pads

Rear Brake Pad Installation
• Check  that the pad spring [A] and guide [B] are in place
  on the caliper or bracket.
• Push the caliper piston in by hand as far as it will go.

• Pull
  [B].
       up the caliper, install the brake pads [A] and pad pin

○Fit the projection [C] of the brake pad into the recess [D]
    of the caliper bracket (both sides).
•   Tighten:
    Torque - Rear Caliper Mounting Bolt: 22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m, 16
               ft·lb)
             Rear Brake Pad Pin: 17 N·m (1.7 kgf·m, 13 ft·lb)
             Rear Brake Pad Pin Plug: 2.5 N·m (0.25 kgf·m, 22
               in·lb)

                           WARNING
    After servicing, it takes several applications of the
    brake pedal before the brake pads contact the disc,
    which could result in increased stopping distance
    and cause an accident resulting in injury or death.
    Do not attempt to ride the motorcycle until a firm
    brake pedal is obtained by pumping the pedal until
    the pads are against the disc.

Brake Pad Wear Inspection
• Refer to the Brake Pad Wear Inspection (see Brake Pad
  Wear Inspection(2-50)).
