2-58 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Periodic Maintenance Procedures

• Remove:
   Steering Stem Head Bolt Plug [A]
     Steering Stem Head Bolt [B] and Washer
•   Loosen the upper front fork clamp bolts [C].
•   Remove the stem head [D].

• Bend the claws [A] of the claw washer straighten.
• Steering Stem Locknut [B]
  Remove:

     Claw Washer

• Adjust the steering using the socket wrench [A].
    Special Tool - Socket Wrench,       52: 57001-1828
    If the steering is too tight, loosen the stem nut [B] a fraction
    of a turn.
    If the steering is too loose, tighten the stem nut a fraction
    of a turn.
                                NOTE
    ○Turn the stem nut 1/8 turn at time maximum.
