Electronic Cruise Control System
Inspection Procedure
• Turn ignition switch off.
• Shift the transmission to 1st gear, and down the side
stand.
• Connect the K-VCI kit to the Kawasaki diagnostic system
connector to enter the diagnostic mode for the cruise con-
trol system.
Special Tools - K-VCI Kit: 57001-1868 or
K-VCI Kit (BT): 57001-1869
○Read the instructions for the K-VCI kit.
•○Turn the ignition switch on.
The multifunction displays will enter the diagnostic mode
and the information may appears in this area [A].
○The white electronic cruise control indicator light (LED)
[B] goes on.
If a number [A] is blinked, inspect the switch or button
which corresponding with the number in the previous ta-
ble (see Switches and Sensors section (16-110)).
• Close the throttle grip [A] to the fully closed position and
force the throttle grip beyond the fully closed position.
• The number “1” [A] will appear and the green electronic
cruise control set indicator light (LED) [B] goes on.
• While returning the throttle grip to the fully closed position,
the indicator light (LED) goes off.
If the number “1” does not appear, inspect the accelerator
position sensor (see Accelerator Position Sensor Input
Voltage Inspection(17-38)).
