Rear Wheel Rotation Sensor Signal (Service Code 24) (DTC P2158)
Rear Wheel Rotation Sensor Signal Inspection
○The rear wheel rotation sensor sends the signal to the
ECU through the ABS hydraulic unit.
○The ECU uses the rear wheel rotation sensor signal for
motorcycle speed.
○The service code 24 is detected with the ECU.
•Inspect the wheel rotation sensor air gap (see Wheel Ro-
tation Sensor Air Gap Inspection(12-50)).
•Inspect the wheel rotation sensor rotor (see Wheel Rota-
tion Sensor Rotor Inspection(12-51)).
•When the service code 24 and following service codes
(for ABS) are displayed at the same time, inspect the rear
wheel rotation sensor.
Service Code B44 (see Rear Wheel Rotation Sensor
Signal Abnormal (Service Code B44)(17-90))
Service Code B45 (see Rear Wheel Rotation Sensor
Wiring Inspection (Service Code B45)(17-91))
• When only service code 24 is displayed, do the following
inspection procedures.
• Disconnect:
ECU Connectors (see ECU Removal(3-38))
Rear Wheel Rotation Sensor Lead Connector (see Rear
Wheel Rotation Sensor Removal(12-48))
ABS Hydraulic Unit Connector (see ABS Hydraulic Unit
Removal(12-45))
• Check

If the wiring is good, check the ECU for its ground and
power supply (see ECU Power Supply Inspection(3-39)).
If the ground and power supply are good, replace the
ECU.
